Council Allocations

Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes provides funding to each Service Area twice a year, based on the criteria below. Funds are deposited into the Service Area account via ACH deposit in late fall and spring if all the criteria are met. *Funds are calculated using the total number of girls participating in troops or as Individual members. Girls participating only via outreach programs are not added.

  • Submit a 2021/2022 Service Area plan and/or calendar to their Member Engagement staff representative
  • Submit a 2021/2022 Service Area budget to their Member Engagement staff representative
  • Submit an annual Service Area finance report by May 31, 2022
  • Bank account and updated Troop/Service Area Bank Account Record/ACH Form are on file with the Council
  • Service Area Treasurer has been appointed

Fall Payment

Service Areas will receive an allocation based on Early Registration girl membership on June 30, 2021.

  • If girl membership is below 55% of the 2021-2022 girl membership goal, the Service Area will receive $.25 per girl.
  • If girl membership is at 55-69% of the 2021-2022 girl membership goal, the Service Area will receive $.35 per girl.
  • If girl membership is 70% or more of the 2020-2021 girl membership goal, the Service Area will receive $.50 per girl.

Service Areas will receive an allocation based on creating and implementing a service area plan with volunteer-driven actions for recruiting girls, building community awareness, and supporting leaders.

  • Service Areas that create and implement a plan with 2 actions in each category will receive $.25 per girl.
  • Service Areas that create and implement a plan with 3 actions in each category will receive $.35 per girl.
  • Service Areas that create and implement a plan with 4 or more actions in each category will receive $.50 per girl.

Spring Payment

Service Areas will receive an allocation based on girl membership on February 15, 2022.

  • If girl membership is below 90% of the girl membership goal, the Service Area will receive $.25 per girl.
  • If girl membership is at 90-99.9% of the girl membership goal, the Service Area will receive $.35 per girl.
  • If girl membership is 100% or more of the girl membership goal, the Service Area will receive $.50 per girl. Service Areas will receive an allocation based on holding quality program opportunities for girls, including a cookie rally, family activity, and a new member join event (Daisy start up troop, Bring a Friend event or Community Join event).
  • Service Areas that hold a cookie rally will receive $.25 per girl.
  • Service Areas that hold a cookie rally and one family activity will receive $.35 per girl. • Service Areas that hold a cookie rally, a family event, and a new member event will receive $.50 per girl.
