Discovery Education Station

Science on a Sphere! We are excited to share our passion of Planet Earth (and Beyond!) through environmental, technology, science, and art education; and the promotion of responsible stewardship and healthy living. After all, we only have one Spaceship Earth and we need to keep it running into the future. We are here to offer courses, activities, and opportunities to all ages of Girl Scouts. Get dirty, learn about future technologies, introduce yourself to a new language, observe nature, take a trip to another world, and much more! Many of our classes can be done in person or remotely.

Good News Project

Good News Project is a local non-profit who’s mission is fulfilling needs at home and abroad through meaningful service opportunities. We accomplish this through two core local programs. H.E.L.P. (Health Equipment Lending Program) and e-CYCLING.

Girl Scouts visiting Good News Project will receive a tour of our facility focusing on discussion of how we achieve our vision to Be the Good, for the environment and each other. This will include learning how donated medical equipment gets reused, allowing us to help our community members with their medical needs so they can have the independence, mobility, and dignity we all deserve. We will also explore our electric recycling program, e-CYCLING, and learn how each individual has an opportunity to make a difference to our environment by recycling.

An additional opportunity available for Girl Scouts is to take a deeper dive into the concepts of reduce, reuse, and recycle as a way to take care of our earth. These concepts will be taught with hands on activities that will inspire conversations of how they can create change.

The tour of the facility takes 1 hour to complete and additional activities can be organized to meet the needs of the troops. The tour and activities are appropriate for all ages.
