Adventures on the Go™

Adventures on the Go™ allows groups, troops, and service areas to participate in expert-led Girl Scout activities- no matter where you are. We can meet at a Girl Scout property or come to you with our Adventures on the Go™ mobile unit. We offer archery, boating, low ropes, orienteering, outdoor cooking, snowshoeing, and more!

Service Area Outdoor Champion

Outdoor Champions are service area support volunteers who are passionate about the outdoors. They have interest and ability in one or more outdoor skills, focusing on fire building, campfire cooking, and camping. They enjoy teaching and mentoring Girl Scouts of all ages in nature activities, progression of outdoor skills, and earning badges. Service Area Outdoor Champions are confident in their ability to lead small groups.

There are four flexible ways to help a service area or the individual troops within the service area.

  1. Host Outdoor Education training events for adult volunteers.
  2. Assist with organizing outdoor-focused events.
  3. Demonstrate and teach outdoor skills.
  4. Advocate for outdoor activities and encourage attendance at council and community outdoor events.

To become an Outdoor Champion, volunteers first complete the council course, Outdoor Education and the train-the-trainer course Outdoor Champion training. Contact Girl Scouts at info@gsnwgl.org or 888.747.6945 to ask more questions about this service area role.
