Volunteer Toolkit
The Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) is a digital planning and communication tool. Troop Leaders and Assistant Troop Leaders can access badge requirements, meeting plan agendas, supply lists, resource materials, and activity sheets to help plan troop meetings and share troop calendar details with caregivers. You can also document your Girl Scouts’ attendance, achievements, and so much more! It’s the digital planning assistant available to leaders with your Girl Scout membership. It will help you power a fun-filled and well-organized Girl Scout year.
Access the VTK
Login to MyGS/My Account from gsnwgl.org and access the Volunteer Toolkit from the menu bar. It’s accessible on via desktop, tablet, or mobile device.
- Troop Leaders and Assistant Troop Leaders have edit access to every section of the Volunteer Toolkit.
- Troop Treasurers have edit access to the My Troops and Finance sections.
- Caregivers have view-only access to summaries of the Year Plan, Meeting Plan, and Finance sections.
- Caregivers of Juliettes (individually registered girls) should contact info@gsnwg.org to request VTK access.

Attend Volunteer Toolkit Live-Demonstration Trainings. Register for the free sessions from MyGS or the Events calendar. Visit the Council Trainings & Certifications page for a current list of dates.
VTK System Updates
August 1-3, 2024: Girl Scouts in the system automatically “age-up” to next grade in school and next program grade level. Volunteers and caregivers are invited to update the school names in MyGS/My Profile.
July 15, 2024: Annual system updates will be made on July 15.
- Year Plans archive to Past Years.
- All Achievement & Attendance data is cleared. Download ahead of time from the troop tab.
- New program material, including meetings and year plans will be added.
June 21, 2024, 9 p.m. CST to June 23, 9 p.m. CST: Planned maintenance will make customer applications in MyGS inaccessible during this time, including gsEvents, gsLearn, and the Volunteer Toolkit.
May 2024: GSUSA Year Plans have coordinating support in the VTK! Go to the Explore tab and find them in the Pre-selected Tracks section. Choose the grade level you work with, or multi-level collections for Daisy, Brownie, Junior and Cadette, Senior, Ambassador.
VTK Usage Notes
New leaders (those who purchased extended year membership options available April 1) will have access to the VTK on July 1. Current leaders who have not renewed their membership will have access through September 30. Only 3 years of archived data is stored in the VTK for both Year Plans and Finance Reports, so download and save them if you wish to keep a long term record of troop activity and financial records. Finance reports archive on September 30.
